While they "grew up" in Minnesota, Mark and Sheila have had a close connection to Dry Creek Valley for many years.  Mark's Uncle, Tom Maple and his wife Tina have owned and farmed Maple Vineyards in The Valley for over a quarter century.  During regular trips out to Tom and Tina's vineyard Mark's passion for the art of living came to life growing grapes and affirmed Healdsburg as the place to do it.  They kept the dream alive when circumstances finally allowed, they uprooted from cozy Minneapolis Minnesota to start Famighetti Vineyards in the summer of 2015.  They look forward to sharing the vineyard and amazing experiences with family and friends.

Why Famighetti? Famighetti was Mark's father's surname until his grandparents changed it to Farmer in 1950. Sheila and Mark decided to bring back the name and honor their Italian heritage by naming the vineyard Famighetti.  It was originally "Famiglietti"; Italian slang for "little family."  At Ellis Island the "li" became an "h" and the rest is history.
