Our largest varietal. Dry Creek Valley is known for being one of the best places on earth to grow Zinfandel. We were first introduced to this grape by my Uncle Tom Maple who cultivated 26 acres of prime bench top land in Dry Creek Valley. Tom’s passion for Zinfandel rubbed off on us and inspired us to not only enjoy drinking fine Zinfandel wines, but to pursue growing this grape. Our 2500 Zinfandel vines are grown at elevation on a very steep, bowl-shaped terrace cut into the mountainside. There are not many vineyards like this on earth. This unique micro-climate requires hand-crafted farming techniques and consistently produces award winning fruit.

Famighetti Vineyards has 600 Grenache vines stretched across the only flat ridge on the property. It is an ideal spot for growing this Rhone varietal and produces extremely flavorful yet balanced wines.

Our second Rhone varietal, the vineyard has roughly 1400 Syrah vines that stretch down a two-tiered steep slope. The combination of the higher elevated block which gets more sun and heat with the cooler fruit at lower elevation produces a superb, hearty, spicy Syrah wine that any cabernet lover would adore.

Our only white grape, we grow 500 Viognier vines in two small blocks at lower elevation. The cooler temperatures are perfect for this Rhone varietal and continue to produce award winning wines. We first tasted this wonderful varietal during our 2 years in France and have been delighted to be able to grow this grape here at Famighetti Vineyards.
